MANILA, Philippines – June 2025
Floating shabu recovery Cagayan P10 million took a significant turn on Friday, June 20, when fishermen in Barangay Bisagu, Aparri, Cagayan discovered a pack of floating shabu weighing 1.5 kilos, valued at P10.2 million. The drug was found floating in the sea and was labeled with the number 66 and the logo of a durian fruit.

Discovery of Floating Shabu in Cagayan Waters
The floating shabu was packed in a heat-sealed transparent plastic bag and was turned over to the Aparri Police Station immediately after being discovered. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Region 2 took the contraband into their custody for a thorough examination. This discovery adds to the growing concern over drug smuggling in the Cagayan region, particularly in its waters.
Previous Drug Discoveries in the Area
This recent discovery is not the first of its kind in Cagayan. Earlier, on June 14, two sacks of shabu were found in Claveria, and one more pack was discovered in Santa Praxedes, further reinforcing the presence of the illegal drug trade in the province. The PDEA has confirmed that the recovered drugs from these locations are also worth millions, highlighting the extensive scale of the drug problem in the area.
PDEA’s Ongoing Efforts to Combat Drug Trade
In response to the ongoing drug trade, the PDEA continues to strengthen its operations, working closely with local authorities and communities to intercept and prevent illegal shipments. The agency has emphasized that they will keep up their efforts to dismantle drug smuggling networks operating in Cagayan and other areas across the country.
Conclusion
The discovery of floating shabu in Cagayan not only raises concerns about the illegal drug trade but also highlights the importance of vigilance and cooperation between local communities and law enforcement agencies. As authorities continue their investigation into these recent drug finds, there is a collective push to stop the flow of illegal drugs into the country and protect its citizens from the dangers associated with drug abuse.
